I was talking to one of my best friends the other night. He lives in Vancouver and makes me laugh more than anyone else in the world. We were talking about the current hellishness and the general hellishness of this last year.
Louise: I hate 2006. I'm so glad it's almost over.
Drew: Yeah, it should be called 2000-sucks, not 2006. But my year hasn't really been that bad.
Louise: What are you talking about? Your year was terrible!
Drew: Hmm. Yeah. You're right.
Cue hysterical laughter.
This year has been so lame we've all started to take lameness as the standard. Fingers crossed that 2007 will be better.

why, i was just saying today that 2006 can go suck an egg!

Sometimes a good laugh is what we need to get us to start smiling. I hope things are better and your sadness is less today. SEnding you hugs. :)

I have such low standards for judging lameness that I'm actually counting 2006 as a major success. I only had to go to Houston twice, just for tests, and the only surgeries I had were a root canal and a breast biopsy.
This is the first year in four years that I'm going into the holidays without recovering from major surgery. I'd almost forgotten what that felt like.
All that said, there's no question that 2007 still has lot of potential for improvement over 2006.
